5 Barilla’s ads shooted by famous film directors

Barilla is the world most important brand of pasta. The company was founded in 1877 as a bakery shop in Parma, Italy by Pietro Barilla.  Just like me, his owner had a passion for movies and commercials: because of that, Barilla’s marketing strategies and ads have always been very powerful, the most bright example is the flagship punchline “Where there is Barilla, there is home”. The Pietro Barilla’s passion for movies was the base of a lot of Barilla’s ads, in particular during the 80’s the company started a series of commercials with famous actors and directors. Here you can find a selection.

“High society” (1985) by the italian director Federico Fellini, know as “the master”.

Spot by David Lynch, with Gerard Depardieu (1994).

By Ridley Scott, with Gerard Depardieu and Maria Grazia Cucinotta (1992)

Spot directed by Wim Wenders and written by Alessandro Baricco (2002). The ad was a celebration of the 125 years of the brand: the final punchline says “the work continues. Since 1877”.

“The dream” directed by Javier Blanco with the voice of James McCaffrey (2002).
